The Swedish Environmental Management Council choose Active Lights as outstanding example

The Swedish Environmental Management Council, an advisory body to the Swedish government on environmental management and Green Public Procurement, highlights Active Lights on their website. There is an enormous energy saving potential in public outdoor lighting where the cost normally accounts for one quarter of running and maintenance budgets. Active Lights are a good example of new technology using solar powered lighting diodes.

Active Lights light up yet another bike path!

The small town of Kungälv in west Sweden has installed Active Lights along 75 m of bike path where traditional lighting cannot be installed. Six low light fittings using solar energy powered lighting will be attached to the Z-Elips fencing between the bike path and the roadway.
Kungälv has an energy plan with ambitious climate and energy targets. To reach these targets Kungälv must use more effective energy and more renewable energy sources. Using solar powered lighting can be a major contribution towards using energy more effectively. And what is more, the bike path itself can mean fewer cars.



Jogging path with Active Lights ActiveLights™

The Swedish town Höganäs has ordered Active Lights for a jogging path. The lights will be delivered in October.

Stockholm Archipelago Foundation installs Active Lights

The main task of the Archipelago Foundation is to make it possible for everyone to be able to experience and enjoy Stockholm's archipelago, with its vibrant cultural landscape and wealth of opportunities for recreational activities. The foundation is to install Active Lights on the island Lidö in the northern archipelago in the municipality of Norrtälje.



Lights in Alingsås 2010

Alingsås has placed an order for Active Lights to be installed on the street Norra Ringgatan. Active Lights will be in place and can be seen by the start of the “Lights in Alingsås” days this autumn.

Active Lights ordered by yet another major Swedish city

The city of Lund in southern Sweden is trying our introductory offer. Active Lights will be installed in September this year.



Active Lights have now been installed in the city of Borås in central Sweden.

You can now see Active Lights in action at Pumpkällan in Viskafors, close to Borås.



Unique lighting system in yet another Swedish city

Borås in central Sweden has placed an order for ActiveLights™ for pedestrian and bike paths. Delivery will be in March 2010

and we look forward to swtiching on the lights this spring.



Enköping points the way

11th December 2009 saw the premier for the first ActiveLights™ in Enköping. The first seven poles are being tested on the bike path from Tellusvägen to Boglösavägen. More poles will be placed along the bike path to Bredsan. (From the Swedish radio station, SR P4)



Neighbourhood association with bright ideas

The Skälby North Neighbourhood Association in Upplands Väsby has installed 15 ActiveLights™. The deciding factors were the financial and environmental benefits, along with the added security and that the lights blend in well in this setting, according to the chairperson, Gudrun Kasthed.



Smart choice for Swedish city Enköping

The Swedish city Enköping has placed an order for ActiveLights™ for pedestrian and bike paths. ActiveLights™ will be supplied by the end of October 2009.



Unique lighting on track

The three kilometre long pedestrian and bike track from Hökåsen to Finnslätten will be fitted with ActiveLights™ intelligent lighting system. Using traditional lighting to light this stretch would cost Västerås 250,000 SEK (around 35,000$). Using ActiveLights™ costs only a fraction. This motion activated lighting will help motorists on the adjacent Bergslagsvägen to see animals approaching the roadway and prevent accidents. The system is expected to come into full use during September 2009.
